I and my groupmates in Surveying have been consistently sleeping short and late in the past days because of this project we are to submit earlier of next week. For more than three times now, we've stayed overnights at Chalcedon's in order to finish this project on time.

Sense and Sensibility
I shall now continue my blogging habit as per influence of Jenna, main star of MTV-produced television show Awkward. It finally came to my senses to come back on Blogspot after I've ran the first season of the show.

Laughter, Fright
Camille invited us at their house in Pilar, Capiz on the second day of January 2013 since her sister passed the licensure exam for nurses on her first take last year. It was a very late blowout but we didn't care as long as we get to have time together. It was before Christmas of 2012 when we had our last clique hangout. She invited us for an overnight stay.

Acquaintances

| The Junior Officers presented in front (yay red!) |
The night was still young when the program for this year's Philippine Institute of Civil Engineers - CPU Student Chapter Acquaintance Party commenced. Everyone from freshmen up to fifth-year was excited for the program to start, only to find out that the first part will bore everyone in the room - dull guest speakers and unimportant things to be acquainted about. And that only ended until the dinner was served when the real enjoyment of the party started.

Fitness

| Posing after the run run. Such relief! |
I ran five kilometers this morning as a support for a city-wide event of one of the departments of my college. Man, it was hell of a marathon!
The fun run started with the sun shining, but rain covered the skies after five minutes while we were on the way. In less than an hour or more, of course, we all finished the race in wet clothes. The clouds were that heavy that the rain did not stop until the awarding ceremonies ended.
Anyhow I am looking forward to joining more of these events. When long ago I would resist to every physical exercise, now I actually like it. Yes to fitness!

Alcohol Abstinence

Amiel, after a sent text, came just before we were about to start eating. The bill's on Mark, which made everyone happy. Plus there's no alcohol involved, so that gave me happiness times two!

Looking Forward

As part of our Civil Engineering curriculum, Elementary and Higher Surveying is a subject we are required to take this year. I'm not making it appear that we're forced to take it, but we're even overwhelmed to have it now. It is our first professional subject taken in our stay in the college, a course we're all anxious about when we were freshmen and sophomores because it appears pleasurable with the then juniors on the field.

Sports-filled Sunday
June 10th marked significant episodes in the field of sports. Here are those, consecutively, in Philippine time:
- NBA Eastern Conference Game 7 of Miami Heat and Boston Celtics
- Manny Pacquiao versus Timothy Bradley for the former's Welterweight title
- Shakey's V-League Season 9 First Conference Finals Game 3 between University of Santo Tomas and Ateneo de Manila University
- French Open 2012 Men's Tennis Finals, Rafael Nadal versus Novak Djokovic
Yup, it was a sports-filled Sunday. And 'twas good that the odds were on my favor today.

Scripps and Spelling Bees
I watched a few episodes of the telecast of the Scripps National Spelling Bee 2012, and I must say that that was one heck of a Spelling competition. Kids not beyond their eighth grade spell words of different origins and, I reckon, out-of-this-world words - words I could not even pronounce myself and words I hardly knew ever existed - in front of a live audience. That's why I highly revere them for their dedication to spelling in such young ages.
With that, I share that I can relate to their situation, because I joined twice in a spelling bee competition way back when. I was in third year High School, representing my school and competing against the fifteen others in our division. I was blessed with a 2nd place during that year, 2008. But since I wasn't able to be in first place, I was again sent to contest during my fourth year in High School. Although, sadly, I slid down to third place for a reason that I was not conditioned that much compared to the year before. But I was happy, for I brought honor to my school for two consecutive years, and to think that I beat the others being the second and third place among fifteen.
That was so long ago that I already lost my keen sense of spelling words often misspelled. How do you correctly spell accommodate again? What about lieutenant? Ack, I need to redeem my spelling prowess.

Family Day
Sundays are usually the day to spend with the family, and today the Reyeses had a chance to gather and have fun together at San Antonio Beach Resort. Well it is actually like a despedida celebration for my sister who will be leaving for an international flight in June for work abroad. Our family was complete at one sitting on the rarest times.

I missed the Internet
I missed the Internet.
All the activities I used to enjoy during the vacation are things that I am now looking forward to, since I was drained by my academic stresses in the fast-paced summer classes. I need to recover myself from this exhaustion and I can see that the Internet can do it very well for me.
A new semester is coming soon and my summer subjects will finally be put into end by Saturday of this week. But despite that, there is an idea which terrifies me that we will have our qualifying exam on the next. Pressure is on ours in the next two weeks for we will face significant challenges of our courses. But I believe that we shall conquer them and be able to survive Engineering's wrath, hopefully smoothly.
All that, I should lay down and keep calm about. Although you cannot take away from my face that I've been mentally tired and used by my summer subjects.
I missed the Internet. Forgive my redundancy, but I just missed the Internet so much I had to repeat it over and over again.

Sunday Mass
Many weeks had passed and I wasn't able to hear the mass in churches on Sundays. I would be lucky if I could catch one while scanning channels on television, then one of my obligations as a Christian will be achieved.
But not today. Even last week I fell short of it. And the week before last week. And the week before that. Not even a Sunday from last month.
I admit it has been a lapse in my life - not going to church and attend the mass. I wasn't nurtured by my family to be that dedicated to my religion and commit to all the responsibilities of a Roman Catholic Christian, but as long as I pray and trust God in all my ways, my parents would be more than happy that they have a son who recognizes and accepts Christ in his life.
This has been an issue lately about my life. But since no one motivates me to change the way I do about my responsibilities for my religion, not even my parents, I remain doing this fall back.

Toy Robot
When I'm bored, I usually explore things at my disorganized, messy room. Today I was, so I creep into things under my bed if ever I could see anything that could make the while worth.
And I had excavated a robot.
Moron 5
As planned yesterday, we went to watch the movie Moron 5 and the Crying Lady today. We were actually four at first, but since Rica wasn't able to come I, Mark and Kett watched it in the theater.
My expectations were met for a Pinoy comedy film. Full of comical actions, script laughable for the mass. But not well thought and written for the bandwagon, like that in Praybeyt Benjamin which became a big hit.
The movie was a good laugh, although there are many parts which bore the onlookers. It was a fine view, but it is not the kind that I would watch over and over again. So I'm giving it a 2.5 out of 5.
At least I went out of the house today since I am all alone at home when I woke up at before noon. Otherwise, I got myself spending on the Internet the whole day again. And that is not an ideal activity for a long weekend.

Joker
![]() |
| Myself in a colorful, fancy wig |
Hello, I'm Dion and I am a clown. I like to make people laugh, especially those that are close to my heart. I would crack jokes based on the situation I am in, and usually seeps in the dead air in a room.
I'm more than glad to make other people happy. That is one thing I do to keep the social interaction among others.
Summer Classes Pain
Summer of last year, I wasn't able to enroll myself for the optional taking of the minor subjects which are supposed to be taken in the fifth year. That's why this year, as a first-timer in attending the fast-paced summer classes, I completely lost my normal system in the process of acquiring subjects which are supposed to be given in five months and yet compressed in just a month.
Two straight hours of lessons, and to take note that they are held five days a week, appeared okay for me at first. Until I could actually attend the everyday classes, and I already had experienced the whole thing, I felt really exhausted and drained.
Everyday I have to deal with the same subjects, just like we did in Elementary. But this time, since I am already in college, topics are harder and a lot specific to my course. I had to study every night since the teacher may give a surprise quiz the next day, due to time constraints compared to that of the normal semester where the load of the subjects are not heavily given each day.
I'm not really complaining here, okay maybe I am, but I just am not used to this kind of system. My whole state of mind and of body is not ready to be used and consumed as such each and every day this summer semester. I'd be really happy if I don't have any facial marks that would root from the stresses I had in these summer classes.
