Looking Forward

As part of our Civil Engineering curriculum, Elementary and Higher Surveying is a subject we are required to take this year. I'm not making it appear that we're forced to take it, but we're even overwhelmed to have it now. It is our first professional subject taken in our stay in the college, a course we're all anxious about when we were freshmen and sophomores because it appears pleasurable with the then juniors on the field.

   So far, the class meetings were fine and exciting. Although the lectures usually bore us, our laboratory experiments were the ones that made it all worthwhile. We would go out to the grass field and do plane measurements which need plotting of marking pins, rolling over the grass to sight the pins, 

and taping over level ground which are the fun bits of the laboratory time. But it really is a hard time to perform the processes when the sun is really up and striking - it's too damn hot!

   As of today we had four experiments already finished, the most basic ones, and I'm definitely sure that everyone in the class is looking forward to finally be using the theodolite, which is a surveyor's main equipment. We just cannot wait for more.
