Scripps and Spelling Bees

I watched a few episodes of the telecast of the Scripps National Spelling Bee 2012, and I must say that that was one heck of a Spelling competition. Kids not beyond their eighth grade spell words of different origins and, I reckon, out-of-this-world words - words I could not even pronounce myself and words I hardly knew ever existed - in front of a live audience. That's why I highly revere them for their dedication to spelling in such young ages.

With that, I share that I can relate to their situation, because I joined twice in a spelling bee competition way back when. I was in third year High School, representing my school and competing against the fifteen others in our division. I was blessed with a 2nd place during that year, 2008. But since I wasn't able to be in first place, I was again sent to contest during my fourth year in High School. Although, sadly, I slid down to third place for a reason that I was not conditioned that much compared to the year before. But I was happy, for I brought honor to my school for two consecutive years, and to think that I beat the others being the second and third place among fifteen.

That was so long ago that I already lost my keen sense of spelling words often misspelled. How do you correctly spell accommodate again? What about lieutenant? Ack, I need to redeem my spelling prowess.

I missed the Internet

I missed the Internet.
All the activities I used to enjoy during the vacation are things that I am now looking forward to, since I was drained by my academic stresses in the fast-paced summer classes. I need to recover myself from this exhaustion and I can see that the Internet can do it very well for me.
A new semester is coming soon and my summer subjects will finally be put into end by Saturday of this week. But despite that, there is an idea which terrifies me that we will have our qualifying exam on the next. Pressure is on ours in the next two weeks for we will face significant challenges of our courses. But I believe that we shall conquer them and be able to survive Engineering's wrath, hopefully smoothly.
All that, I should lay down and keep calm about. Although you cannot take away from my face that I've been mentally tired and used by my summer subjects.
I missed the Internet. Forgive my redundancy, but I just missed the Internet so much I had to repeat it over and over again.

Summer Classes Pain

Summer of last year, I wasn't able to enroll myself for the optional taking of the minor subjects which are supposed to be taken in the fifth year. That's why this year, as a first-timer in attending the fast-paced summer classes, I completely lost my normal system in the process of acquiring subjects which are supposed to be given in five months and yet compressed in just a month.
Two straight hours of lessons, and to take note that they are held five days a week, appeared okay for me at first. Until I could actually attend the everyday classes, and I already had experienced the whole thing, I felt really exhausted and drained.
Everyday I have to deal with the same subjects, just like we did in Elementary. But this time, since I am already in college, topics are harder and a lot specific to my course. I had to study every night since the teacher may give a surprise quiz the next day, due to time constraints compared to that of the normal semester where the load of the subjects are not heavily given each day.
I'm not really complaining here, okay maybe I am, but I just am not used to this kind of system. My whole state of mind and of body is not ready to be used and consumed as such each and every day this summer semester. I'd be really happy if I don't have any facial marks that would root from the stresses I had in these summer classes.

Summer Enrolment

I took the bus early today for Iloilo to enroll myself in the required summer classes. I haven't got any sleep for the trip since my sleeping pattern has changed in a while.
My goal was to get my grades and to enroll, and go home if both are already accomplished. With that mission in mind, I instantly headed to the school and to the Civil Engineering Department to start the whole process of the enrolment. I was in the office for an hour making myself busy for the encoding of the subjects.
